Procambarus Pictus
Origin: Florida (USA). Appearance: Nice markings on the Carapace and some red in the tail. Yellow-ish to white spots on the body with streaks on a dark brown/black background. Apparently the colour pattern fades in captive animals. Sexing: Males have gonopods and larger claws. Females have a wider rear body. Life span: Unknown. Size: 8cm. Sexually mature: Unknown. Gestation: Unknown. Character: Not very aggressive, but be careful with beautiful fish and plants. Tank setup: As with other crayfish, some fast fish and fast growing plants and a sandy bottom. Waterconditions: Temperature 12-26ºC with soft water around 4dGH. Feeding: Eat pretty much anything. Take into account the feeding of leaves(oak, beech, alder etc.).
